Current News

Aberdeen Art Gallery will formally close to visitors at the end of January, but throughout the month of February we aim to offer some limited access so you can see what's happening. These dates and times will be confirmed early in the New Year, when we will also announce details of a farewell event for all the family at the end of March. Re-opening of the redeveloped Gallery will be winter 2017.

Reduced car parking rates are available at the NCP car park on Shiprow for those visiting Aberdeen Maritime Museum. Please ask for further details at the reception desk in Aberdeen Maritime Museum when leaving.

FESTIVE OPENING HOURS

Over the Festive season Aberdeen Art Gallery and Aberdeen Maritime Museum will be closed to the public on 25, 26, 30, 31 December and 1 and 2 January. The Tolbooth Museum will be closed to the public on 25, 26, 28, 30, 31 December and 1 and 2 January.

All three venues will be open at their usual times on other days.

What Our Visitors Say

"As a teenager I used to visit the Gallery and it was a place of inspiration to me, a place of reflections, silence and peace, an almost reverential space... like stepping into another world. If it is ever raining, which it often is, there is a wee cafe where you can enjoy a nice cappucino." Annie Lennox, 2012.

"Aberdeen Art Gallery is highly recommended. Looks like I'll be getting a later train to Inverness." Alan Davies, 2012.

"An excellent combination of modern technology and maritime heritage in both building and displays."

"[Staff] are very good and very approachable. Their enthusiasm is infectious..."
