Why did you want to work in Museums?
I'm interested in Scottish Church History, the history of the Reformation, the 16th century and generally the history of Aberdeen and believe it's important to preserve our past and make it as accessible as possible. Working in museums let's me do this.

What's your favourite part of the job?
Researching new topics and then giving talks based on this.

What's your favourite object?
The Maiden, one of two guillotines used in the 16th and 17th century Scotland. A fascinating, if grisly, object, about which much mythology has been created but its true history has yet to be fully teased out from the historical sources.
