Free talk on popular cartoonist

20 October

A free talk on the life and work of cartoonist Jimmy Allan will take place at 12.30pm on Wednesday 26 October at Aberdeen Maritime Museum, Shiprow.

Jimmy Allan is best known to Aberdonians as the creator of "Allan's Angles", the well crafted and often sharply witty cartoons featured in the Evening Express during the 1960s. With an eye for detail and a good humoured sense of Aberdeen identity, the cartoons poke fun at Aberdeen and Aberdonians.

The talk will be illustrated with many of Allan's cartoons including some not seen in public since their publication in the 1960s.

The talk coincides with an exhibition of a selection of original cartoons by Jimmy Allan on display at Aberdeen Maritime Museum until Saturday 04 February 2012.
