29 June 2011

A series of fun, free activities for all the family to enjoy start this weekend [Saturday 02 July] to coincide with the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition on display at Aberdeen Art Gallery, Schoolhill.

The exhibition opened earlier this month [Saturday 11 June] and runs until Saturday 20 August 2011 and is already proving to be extremely popular with visitors. Figures for Saturday 26 June reveal 1,000 visitors viewed the exhibition.

Deirdre Grant, Head of Public Programmes, Museums & Galleries, Aberdeen City Council, said: "We've had a terrific response to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition and we look forward to welcoming visitors of all ages to the Gallery this weekend for the launch of our Go Wild series.

Throughout the summer Go Wild Weekends will be exploring nature and the environment with an opportunity to see some live birds and insects at close quarters and lots of hand on activities."
