Free Concert Offers a Cure for the New Year Blues

23 December 2013

Lunchbreak Concerts at the Cowdray Hall start another exciting year of music in Aberdeen with the first event at 1pm on Saturday 04 January.

Frank Robb and Friends will welcome in the New Year with an hour-long programme of acoustic music featuring folk, blues and original songs.

Celebrated Scottish singer/songwriter Frank Robb has appeared at home and abroad, delighting audiences with his eclectic mix of original songs and ad lib humour.

His strength and sensitivity as a musician and writer is demonstrated in his powerful delivery of songs; his range includes traditional and contemporary folk music and blues alongside a self-penned repertoire.

Keen to promote music locally Frank has joined forces with several well-known musicians who have individual musical interests and perform brilliantly as a group.

The line-up includes singer Yvonne Morton, Alan Walker on guitar, Sandy Leggat on fiddle, singer/guitarist Bob Knight and Spider MacKenzie on harmonica.

Frank said: "I am very pleased to be taking part in the Lunchbreak Concert series and to work with fellow performers whom I have admired over the years."

Admission is free although donations are welcome.

The popular series of Lunchbreak Concerts features an exciting programme in the Cowdray Hall under the artistic direction of Dr Roger B Williams MBE of the University of Aberdeen.
