Volunteer Opportunities

Aberdeen Art Gallery & Museums offers a number opportunities for Volunteers to assist us in managing our heritage while allowing you to develop skills, meet new people and have fun along the way.

Volunteer placements may include working with the collections in the areas of conservation or cataloguing or assisting our visitors in the engagement and enjoyment of exhibitions and activities.

Volunteer Sound Heritage Support

Deadline for applications is Sunday 26 January, midnight

Come help us re-discover the stories of life, work and play in the North-East: as part of 'Unlocking Our Sound Heritage', Aberdeen Art Gallery & Museums is working alongside regional partner National Libraries Scotland to conserve, digitise and catalogue our historical sound collections.

We are looking to bring together a sociable team of volunteers, fascinated by local history, people's stories or audio preservation, to listen, assess and summarise oral history interviews on life in Aberdeen: schooling, entertainment, work and more.

Volunteer Performance & Events Assistants 2019/20

We have received a fantastic level of interest in this opportunity, and cannot currently accept any further applications specifically for this role. As/when spaces are available, this opportunity will be re-opened. You can still apply as a prospective volunteer above, and receive updates on upcoming opportunities.

The Art Gallery is open! And so is the fantastic Cowdray Hall! Our programme of musical performances, dance, events and more is jam-packed for 2019 - 2020 and we are looking for enthusiastic and personable people to be a part of delivering our events.

This role is rolling, meaning you can apply anytime for the 2019 - 2020 period. As our event times and dates vary, this is a flexible role where you can opt-in around your other commitments!

This role is ideal for those either building on existing experience, or looking to get started. The main qualities that suit this opportunity are an outgoing personality, interested in working with the public and in fast-paced environments.
