Volunteer Opportunities

Aberdeen Art Gallery & Museums offers a number opportunities for Volunteers to assist us in managing our heritage while allowing you to develop skills, meet new people and have fun along the way.

Volunteer placements may include working with the collections in the areas of conservation or cataloguing or assisting our visitors in the engagement and enjoyment of exhibitions and activities.

Volunteer Tour Guides Wanted


We are looking for volunteers to get involved and help at our Say Hello to Summer events!

Tuesday 11 July & Saturday 15 July
Beside the Seaside!
Aberdeen Maritime Museum presents all the fun of the Victorian seaside. Take part in seaside inspired crafts and traditional games - why not come dressed in your Victorian seaside best!

Aimed at children aged 3 to 10. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Venue: Aberdeen Maritime Museum, Shiprow, Aberdeen
Time: 10.30am-3.30pm

Thursday 13 July
Time is running out! Your crew has been imprisoned by a motely gang of mutineers. Use your code cracking skills to escape the hold and reclaim command of your ship! Test your ingenuity in this mutinous breakout challenge in the home of Aberdeen's maritime history.

Activity aimed at teens

Venue: Aberdeen Maritime Museum, Shiprow, Aberdeen
Time: 10-11.30am, 12noon-1.30pm & 2-3.30pm


Thursday 27 July
One of our treasures in missing!
Disaster has struck - one of the museum's treasures has gone missing! Collect clues and help Clare the Curator to find the precious object. Crafts and code-cracking fun for all the family.

Aimed at primary aged children.

Venue: Aberdeen Treasure Hub, Granitehill Road, Northfield, Aberdeen
Time: 10am-12noon & 1.30-3.30pm
