April 15th 2012 is the 100 year anniversary of one of maritime history’s greatest disasters; the sinking of the Titanic. Few maritime events have captured the public imagination as this story has for a century and fascination with all the details of the ship and its sinking continues to this day. The story is well known through books and films and websites, but this display is a chance for local people to show off their own personal Titanic collections, including models, commemorative poems, postcards and newspapers as well as replicas from the recent films and to describe what it is about the story that endures.
