Get Creative

Welcome to our Get Creative Programme.

We are pleased to present a programme of free taster workshops for teens, adults and families through April and May. This is a special opportunity to come in to explore art and craft with our experienced, friendly and creative tutors.

We are also working with the Look Again Festival 2017, offering a series of Treasure Taster Tours at Aberdeen Treasure Hub for adults and a Day of Play at Aberdeen Maritime Museum for families (details for these coming soon). Later in May, look out for a fabulous Risographic Fanzine workshop at Seventeen on Belmont Street with visual artist Katie Guthrie - a chance to make a zine that celebrates a real or imagined band and explore DIY publishing and add your own voice to inspire art and music!

Aberdeen Maritime Museum is taking part in Festival of Museums 2017 with two events focused around our Kiss of Death exhibition and the key artwork in the exhibition, a sinister contemporary headdress by Jo Gordon. The events explore drawing, gothic themes and headdress design.

Gallery of Memories Sharing Day - can you help?
Free drop-in session at Aberdeen Treasure Hub

Our second memory sharing day will take place at our new museum centre, Aberdeen Treasure Hub. This event will be an opportunity for local people to share their memories of war and times of conflict with us. We are looking for stories, photographs, poems, artworks or objects to digitise for incorporation into new displays that will feature in the city's Remembrance Hall as part of by Aberdeen Art Gallery's redevelopment. The event will provide opportunities to share stories, meet curators, handle museum objects, see storerooms, undertake craft activities and learn about preservation.

If you are interested in attending, please email us at memories@aagm.co.uk or telephone 03000 200 293.
