Gifts in Wills

More and more people are realising that leaving a Gift in your Will can help future generations to share in your most treasured experiences.

A gift in your Will, however large or small, will help to preserve Aberdeen Art Gallery for future generations to enjoy and secure the future of the Gallery in perpetuity.

Aberdeen Art Gallery is committed to maintaining the high standard of exhibitions for which it has become known, both nationally and internationally. By leaving a gift in your Will, you would be helping the Gallery continue its excellent programme and to achieve its long-term vision of preserving its collections for future generations to enjoy.

Thanks to a new Government initiative, by leaving 10% of your estate to charity, the rate of Inheritance Tax applicable to the rest of the estate is reduced to 36%. Therefore, by giving to Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museums Development Trust you could benefit your beneficiaries as well.

In 1885 Alexander MacDonald left a Gift to Aberdeen Art Gallery to be used only to buy artworks less than 25 years old. Thanks to his generosity, the people of Aberdeen can enjoy over a century of contemporary art - one of the finest collections in the country.
