Over recent years Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museums has ambitiously collected contemporary metalwork by UK and international makers. Examples of jewellery, hollowware and flatware made from precious and semi-precious materials demonstrate the ways in which metals can be manipulated and brought to life by makers who exploit a range of new techniques. This collection is now recognised as the most innovative and vibrant of all Scottish Local Authority museums.
