Pieter Brueghel the Younger

Exhibition

09/11/2011 - 19/02/2012

This exhibition brings together for the first time some outstanding paintings by Pieter Brueghel the Younger.

All from Scottish collections, these works show how this famous northern renaissance artist, who earned his nickname 'Hell Brueghel' from his gory fantastical scenes, had another side - painting tender genre and religious subjects. Following its showing in Aberdeen Art Gallery this small exhibition will go on to Montrose Museum, where it will run from 25 February to 7 April 2012.
