Marion Patterson’s Medals: Courageous Rescue In Wartime Aberdeen

Aberdeen Maritime Museum

01/09/2014 - 29/11/2014

This small display recalls a remarkable rescue by Aberdonian Marion Patterson in South Market Street, Aberdeen during the Second World War.

It is a rare chance to see all her medals on show, including the George Medal that she was awarded in 1943 for saving a trapped serviceman from a bombed building. There are also several photos of Marion and memorabilia reflecting her time in Aberdeen and later life in Canada.
