All activities are free. Photography will be taking place at this event.

Our two events, After Hours: Extreme Makeover and Breaking the Rules are nearly here! We just want to make everyone aware that due to our fire regulations & health and safety requirements we have a more limited capacity than you might expect for a building of the size of Aberdeen Art Gallery. Once we reach that capacity we will be operating a one-out, one-in policy. This is for both events. We will do our utmost to get as many people through the doors as possible, but as these are not ticketed events we cannot guarantee entry. Please be understanding if our front of house team have to ask you to queue for entry. Thank you.

Dress Up Competition: The Mask
We encourage you to get into the spirit of the evening and transform your image by donning a striking mask. Come wearing your mask to enter our competition for the best mask, to be voted for by AAGM social media fans, and be in with a chance of winning the Mystery Prize!

Sound Track
Grill Cosby of TRY Industries, Allie Ambient of Black Ledge Falling and Otoh from Tuff Wax Records will be providing the sound track to the evening. 6.30-10pm

Bos'n Bar
10 Dollar Shake will be serving up the drinks via a pop-up cash bar. The bar will be open 6:30-9:45pm

Tour with a Twist
Undertake a short self-guided tour of the empty Art Gallery and event activities on offer, by encountering few interesting characters and solving riddles! Located throughout the building. Drop-in 6.30-10pm

The Unconventional Gallery
When we re-open in 2017 we'll be offering you an exciting new range of public programmes and interpretation. Explore the following activities featured in The Unconventional Gallery to get involved in some intriguing ways of engaging with 'Art'.

Untitled (2015), mixed media
Labels are a fantastic tool for finding out more about objects on display. But sometimes they're just a bit…confusing, pompous, too short! With tongue firmly in cheek, we take a satirical look at the object label and invite you to become the interpreter! Drop-in 6.30-10pm

CC Presents: 2.5 Years Later
A manifesto is a public declaration of intentions, motives and views - a desire for radical change. The redevelopment of Aberdeen Art Gallery coincides with a pivotal point for creativity citywide. With this in mind, Gray's School of Art's College Collective invite you to contribute to this public manifesto by sharing your future hopes for, as well as your recollections of, the Art Gallery and Aberdeen. Drop-in 6.30-10pm

Traditionally, the artworks on display in Aberdeen Art Gallery have hung on the walls or stood silently in the sculpture court. But art can take many forms! Experience short performances that capture and present ancient texts in a modern format, followed by a brief discussion of what performance is and how it works. Facilitated by: Amy Bryzgel, Lisa Collinson, University of Aberdeen. Performance times: 7.30pm and 8.30pm

Dr Sketchy's Anti-Art School
The global underground art sensation Dr Sketchy's Anti-Art School will be offering three unique taster sessions. Dr Sketchy offers fun, casual life drawing sessions featuring burlesque, cabaret, sideshow, magic and any other kind of performance art they can get their hands on!

Sessions are great fun for everyone from keen artists to complete beginners just looking to dabble in something a bit different. Featuring performances by cabaret musicians The Creative Martyrs and burlesque artist Miss Hell's Belle.

Taster sessions will take place at the following times: 7.15pm, 8.15pm, 9.15pm

The Stanley Spencer Experience
Using the Clydeside paintings of Stanley Spencer as a stimulus, Quids In Theatre Company will work to create a physical flash mob recreating the essence of the paintings. Using mime, movement and physical soundscape, this completely interactive, fun and participatory workshop will put you right in the working heart of a painting. Not to be missed! Flash mob start times: 7pm, 8pm, 9pm
