01/03/2015 - 31/12/2017

Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museums is offering you a unique opportunity to own an exclusive new work by one of Scotland’s most highly-regarded artists.

At the same time, you will make a vital contribution to the ambitious transformation of three of Aberdeen’s most iconic buildings.

Leading Scottish artist John Byrne has worked with Peacock Visual Arts printmaking studio to produce a striking new limited edition print. The three-colour screen print, entitled 'E St', features a bold portrait head against a mythical New York streetscape.

A limited number of prints are available on a first-come-first-served basis at a cost of £400 (unframed). All proceeds from sales of the print, of which there will be only 50, will go directly to the Inspiring Art and Music fundraising campaign for the redevelopment of Aberdeen Art Gallery, Cowdray Hall and Remembrance Hall. The £30m transformation is creating a world class cultural centre in the heart of our great city.

John Byrne was born in Paisley and attended Glasgow School of Art from 1958 to 1963. He is an award winning writer and artist whose career has spanned almost 60 years. His works range from plays (The Slab Boys), TV (Tutti Frutti and Your Cheatin’ Heart), to book and record covers, illustrations and paintings.

Aberdeen Art Gallery’s outstanding collection is one of the finest in the UK and the rejuvenated Gallery will provide a fit-for-purpose and accessible home for it which will exceed the expectations of all our visitors. The Remembrance Hall will become a welcoming place for contemplation and reflection. The Cowdray Hall, with its celebrated acoustics, will present a varied programme of live music concerts for all to enjoy.
