Join us for a fun evening of activities, discussion and debate exploring how art and design can empower, transform and reinvigorate.

Could our newly redeveloped Art Gallery be a tonic for the soul and the city?

Take part in activities designed to encourage collaboration, creativity and contemplation as we ask questions of art and design’s relevance today as a tool for personal and social development.

Enjoy live music, a cash bar, artist led activities, debate and even a silent disco dance tour.

Here's what you have to look forward to . . .

 

Music

DJs Thought Criminal (Fierce Collective) and Ayeken (Binary School) will provide uplifting beats 6.30-8.00pm / 8.45-10.00pm.

Singer, Finn Henderson-Palmer, from Aboyne, was handpicked by Emeli Sande after being spotted busking on Union Street. Hear his set 8.00 -8.45pm

Introducing young song-writer, Josh Simpson. Josh will perform two pop-up performances during the evening.


Art is Good For You

Improve your life in just 30 minutes by taking part in this fun challenge, while exploring the Art Gallery. *

Complete all activities and you could be in with the chance of winning the Mystery Prize Bag!

Join artist Laura Reilly in exploring the value of play in social development. Choose your team, screen print a bespoke team poster and get ready to participate in the greatest challenge of all time!

Skee-Pong is a playful hybrid of ping-pong and the arcade game skee-ball.

Exquisite Corpse

Join us for an adrenaline filled collaborative speed sketching challenge. No drawing experience necessary.

Mandalas

Take some time out and soak up the calming influence of Barbara Hepworth's Meditation, while creating your own mandala from natural materials.

Silent Disco Dance Tour
With Chris Stuart Wilson

Choreographer, performer and host of Get Scotland Dancing, Dance Along Movies, Chris's outgoing personality, style and energy will have you busting some moves as he guides you effortlessly through routines and freestyling on all 3 levels of the Gallery.

Sign up for spaces opens 15 minutes before the tour starts. Spaces are limited for this activity and allocated on a first come first served basis.

Playful Tours

Join drama facilitator Stephanie Walls for a playful Art Gallery experience.

This is not your ordinary tour!

Please note that there are 15 spaces available on each tour -allocated on a first come first served basis.

Tours start at 7pm and 8.30pm

Places at activities are designated on a first come, first-served basis and operate 6.30-10pm, unless stated otherwise.

Filming and photography will take place at this event.
