Phase 3 of Scottish Government’s route map for the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions allows museums and galleries to open from 15 July. We're eager to welcome visitors back to Aberdeen Art Gallery – but public health must come first.

Work is taking place behind the scenes to ensure that all our visitors have a quality experience throughout the Art Gallery, including the café and shop, and that our staff are also protected. Safeguards outlined in government guidance issued last week include introducing physical distancing and hygiene measures. We will also operate a ticketing system for advance booking.

It will take us a few weeks to implement these measures and we anticipate a re-opening date towards the end of August or early September. We will confirm the date and details of how to book free tickets as soon as they are known. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work towards welcoming you back.

Aberdeen Maritime Museum, The Tolbooth Museum, the Treasure Hub Museum Centre and Provost Skene's House will all remain closed for the time being.
