Shell shaped caddy spoon by William Jamieson of Aberdeen, around 1840. Tea drinking was still a relatively new fashion at this time, but it is interesting to note that shell shaped caddy spoons are still used today with loose tea.

Purchased in 1984 with assistance from the National Fund for Acquisitions.
