Volunteering and Work Placements
Make a difference to Aberdeen Art Gallery & Museums. Share your ideas, experiences and contribute to the arts, heritage and archaeology.
A museum background is not required for you to become a volunteer or to attain a temporary and/or unpaid work placement. However, you must have an open mind and be willing to try new things. Also, you must be very interested in the work of Aberdeen Art Gallery & Museums and Heritage.
Spaces are limited, so unfortunately we cannot guarantee to find you a placement. However, we will try our best to provide an opportunity for you.
If you are interested in becoming part of our Aberdeen Art Gallery & Museums Volunteer Team, please submit your covering letter and CV via email to info@aagm.co.uk
Please quote "Prospective Volunteer" in your email subject heading and tell us your possible area of interest, for example: Exhibitions, Fine Art, Applied Art, Archaeology, Maritime, Science and Industry or Collections Management or state a specific topic that you are interested in so that we can try and place you in a suitable team.

Volunteer Feedback
"As volunteers in the Applied Art Department we have mainly catalogued costumes and an interesting variety of objects. It is a privilege to handle and pack beautiful things and satisfying to know that some of the more mundane jobs we undertake allow the staff to do other things. We enjoy the camaraderie of the Department."
Carole and Ruth, 2009
