There are approximately 3500 records of known archaeological and historical sites on the City Council's Sites and Monuments Record, ranging in date from around 10,000 BC to the 1960s AD.
A recently researched and updated summary of information about over 1000 of these sites is on line, with maps and images. More sites are constantly being added to the on-line SMR and enquiries are welcomed.
