FAMILY SNAP TO HISTORICAL ARTEFACT

Aberdeen Maritime Museum

Special Event

27/06/2015 - 27/06/2015
11am - 4pm

As part of the Institute of Photography in Scotland’s Season of Photography 2015, Aberdeen Maritime Museum is working in partnership with the University of St Andrews and the Institute of Conservation to offer people in Aberdeen the chance to learn more about their old photographs.

Family Snap to Historical Artefact: Understanding and caring for your old photographs will take place at the Education Suite of Aberdeen Maritime Museum and will give you the chance to learn more about the contents of your family photograph albums. This drop-in event is free and there is no need to book.

Photographic experts, historians and digitisation specialists from the Institute of Conservation and University of St Andrews Special Collections will be on hand to give you advice and you will also have the chance to take a look at a handling collection of 19th century photographic materials.

So dust off your old family albums, take great aunt Betty’s photograph from the mantelpiece, and bring them down to Aberdeen Maritime Museum to learn about understanding and caring for your old photographs.
